“There were always orphaned wallaby and kangaroos to look after growing up. My grandmother would make pouches from old pillowslips lined with wool and we would hang them on the old wood stove overnight to keep the joeys warm. I would tuck the bottom of my jumper into my jeans and would carry a joey around with me when they were small.” Lori Pensini
