Inheritance features photographic and embroidery works by Liam Benson that confronts the culture of privilege, war, genocide, persecution and conversion are all methods of oppression which create a structure of power for an antagonistic majority. This course of action also generates a legacy of peace, abundance and privilege for future generations.
Benson’s work explores the dichotomy of violence and serenity inherent within Anglo Saxon and masculine identity. In contrast, Inheritance also celebrates the evolution of sub culture and the subversive advantage of dual identities within a majority dominated environment.
