ABOUT US
Gallerysmith has been recognised name in the visual arts for 17+ years. Since 2008, the gallery has developed a strong reputation for showcasing artists with international profiles and important mid-career artists while also successfully shaping the careers of younger practitioners.
Director Marita Smith's 25+ years in the visual arts (plus her tertiary education in Architecture, Fine Art and Museum Studies) ensures she can advise on all aspects of collecting contemporary art and building a robust art collection. Gallery Manager Belinda Neilson holds a Masters of Art Curatorship and has almost ten years of experience in the commercial gallery sector. Our small dedicated team is bolstered by our communications specialist Lulu Smith.
Gallerysmith supports a list of represented artists who are carefully selected to uphold the gallery’s vision of presenting work which has enduring cultural value. We have a particular interest in highlighting talented artists who have slipped under the radar, including women artists.
