Very rarely in our lives, one plus one makes something as simple as two.

Eastern teachings tell us we live in a world of duality. Everything has the opposite, and the element of antagonism is the law of nature. Besides, the opposites are not irreconcilable opposite, but are allies with an identical agenda, so they need each other.

My work is a search for the manifestation of universal dualities.

The lengthy title indicates the conceptual rationale of the work, and suggests the grounds for my choice of subject matter.

In the creative practice, placed two objects contrasted in the composition, I have attempted to create images which are bold and precise, beautiful and ugly, figurative and abstract, all at the same time. So, the duality is not just in the conceptual realms but the perceptual as well.

My work speaks visually in a narrative way. I see my work as communication. I am not trying to tell what to think or classify things, rather I am asking. I aim to provoke a deeper awareness of what it is to be human, and a genuine appreciation of how wonderful it is to be alive.
