An artist book, Displaced, from Lisa Sewards' debut Gallerysmith exhibition, Driftwood, has been acquired by the specialist collection at the State Library of Queensland. Displaced comprises of ten rolled scrolls of etchings wrapped in twine.
"DISPLACED conveys the story of my maternal family’s migration from war torn Belarus during WW2 to their new beginnings in Australia. Each scroll holds a story, one has imagery of my mother as a young child, others the family’s journey to find a new home, and some the eucalypt trees that surrounded Bonegilla, the Victorian migrant camp that was home to my maternal family for two years upon arriving in Australia." -- artist's statement

Etchings in the book are hand printed by the Artist from metal backed solar plates, multi plates, on BFK Rives cotton rag paper 300gsm. Ten scrolls (printed etchings hand rolled and hinged with archival hinging tape, bound with paper twine), an etching on each, one with collage of WW2 Camp accommodation paper, and one with monotype print, each scroll 2cm diameter and 28cm length.
