In conversation with Alison Kubler, Shin discusses her ongoing Hearts of Absent Women series and reveals details of a major new commission which has been created in collaboration with the Australian Tapestry Workshop for the upcoming 25th Biennale of Sydney. Her most ambitious project to date, this large-scale new work continues Shin’s exploration of family heritage, legacy and resistance, and has already drawn international attention ahead of the Biennale.
