Gallerysmith is delighted to announce that we now represent Clare Brodie.
Undulating forms and soft tones are two of the mechanisms at play in Clare Brodie’s intimate and balanced landscape evocations. From her knowledge of colour theory and form, Brodie's paintings distil the complexities of landscape forms into interlaced organic shapes with a playfulness that belies their complexity. Despite levelling the foreground, mid-ground, and background as a single graphic plane, they are informed by a deep understanding of pictorial composition, space and perspective.
Sydney based, Brodie has had nine solo exhibitions since 2017. She has exhibited at Aotearoa Art Fair and been shortlisted for art prizes including the Fishers Ghost Art Award and the Ravenswood Australian Women's Art Prize. Her collectors extend beyond Australia to the UK and South East Asia.
