A major painting by Christopher Pease has recently been acquired by the Art Gallery of Ballarat. Minang Boodjar 3 reinterprets sections of Robert Dale’s 1834 Panoramic View of King George’s Sound, Part of the Colony of Swan River, placing three ghostly Nyoongar figures over the landscape - the central placement of a target suggesting the looming threat to First Nations populations.
