Wilma Tabacco was born in l'Aquila, italy and immigrated to Australia with her mother as a young child. She studied fied art at RMIT and began exhibiting in Australia in 1988.
The Great Sea surveys the most recent 10 years of painting practice with a series of paintings which explore echoes of her cultural past through the reading and experiencing ancient, modern and contemporary art.
