This exhibition brings together religious iconography and imagery from ancient Javanese scrolls in a bid to preserve important cultural practices which are slowly being lost in the new generation. The work explores the legacy of the many cultures and religions which make up Indonesia.
Dadang Christanto is an internationally recognised artist who has been curated into major art events worldwide including the Venice Biennale (Italy), Kwangju Biennale (Korea), Bienal de São Paulo (Brazil), Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial (Japan) and the 1st and 3rd Asia-Pacific Triennials of Contemporary Art (Australia). Major works are held in public collections around the globe.
