Inge King (1915-2016) is one of Australia’s foremost sculptors whose major commissions include Forward Surge, 1974 on the Arts Centre lawn in St Kilda Rd and Sun Ribbon at Melbourne University along with others at McClelland Gallery, Heide Museum of Modern Art, and the National Gallery of Australia. King was a major force of Australian art throughout her 99 year life, and a central figure of the Centre 5 group from the 1960s.
