2019 GLOVER LANDSCAPE PRIZE exhibition

March 9, 2019 - March 17, 2019

Junko Go‘s work was selected as a finalist for the 2019 John Glover Landscape Art Prize and exhibited at Falls Park pavilion in Evandale, Tasmania. The work selected was Sometimes life seems as it’s a long, endless uphill struggle. Suddenly we are thinking hard about how far we have come and how far we still have to go and whether we have yet attained all that we hoped for.

“My painting is not tied to a particular art movement, instead, it possesses a unique aesthetic encompassing elements of painting, drawing and storytelling that combine my Japanese heritage with Australian vernacular. This work is the culmination of my 25 years of experience in Tasmania.” – Junko Go 2019

Celebrating the legacy of John Glover, The John Glover Art Prize has become one of Australia’s most significant awards for landscape painting, open to artists from anywhere in the world. It is awarded annually by The John Glover Society Inc. for the work judged the best contemporary landscape painting of Tasmania.
Landscape painting is defined in its broadest sense. The aim is to stimulate conversations about the meaning and possibilities expressed in the words landscape, painting and Tasmania.
