Notes: these works are hollow cast aluminium ‘tabletop’ sculptures with a solid base, weighing approximately 2kg each. There are 30 heads in the series, each wuku corresponding to a day of the Javanese Pawukon calendar and containing relevant traditional imagery.
Wukir: Presided by a god name Mahayekti, noble, uncomparable. Holding a banner in the front, able to become a great man in the future. Well mannered. Summed up as gunung (the mountain), looks beautiful from a distance but is dangerous and difficult at close inspection. A person born on wuku Wukir has great talent in art, especially in literature.
