Notes: these works are hollow cast aluminium ‘tabletop’ sculptures with a solid base, weighing approximately 2kg each. There are 30 heads in the series, each wuku corresponding to a day of the Javanese Pawukon calendar and containing relevant traditional imagery.
Wugu: Presided by a god named Singajalma, broadminded, resourceful, understanding. Well mannered, low profile and conscientious. Portrayed as the open sky, broadminded but not easily predicted.
