Susan Purdy was commissioned to create a major new narrative work for Bushfire Australia, an exhibition at TarraWarra Musuem of Art. Susan’s installation Australia Phoenix: A Cosmology featured in the Vista Walk gallery. An essay on this work by Marita Smith appeared in the exhibition catalogue.

Gallerysmith exhibited at Melbourne Art Fair for the first time with new bodies of work by Dadang Christanto, Nici Cumpston, Siri Hayes and Tony Albert. Our first Fair was a great success for the gallery.

The Mitchell Library at the State Library of NSW hosted a major exhibition to celebrate it’s centenary year. Titled ONE hundred, the exhibition comprised one hundred of the most important works from its vast holdings, including the collaborative artist’s book, Eyewitness, by Theo Strasser and Peter Lyssiotis.

Ceramics devotees made a pilgrimage to Shepparton Art Gallery in June to see the past four years of Lynda Draper‘s practice on display.

A number of works by Nici Cumpston were included in a major exhibition titled In the Balance: Art for a Changing World at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art from September – November.
